1. What the Service does
StreamHub receives one live video stream from you (by RTMP or SRT) and copies it, without re-encoding, to the destinations you choose, such as YouTube, Facebook or another RTMP/SRT server. We provide a browser preview of your incoming stream. We don't record, store or publish your video. It passes through our servers in real time only.
2. Your account
- You must give accurate details when signing up and be at least 18, or have permission from a parent or guardian.
- Keep your password and your stream key private. Anyone with your stream key can send video to your destinations and use your credit. You're responsible for all use of your account and key. If you think your key has leaked, create a new one on the Stream Control page.
- You're responsible for the stream keys and addresses of your destinations, and for following the rules of those platforms.
3. Prices, credit and plans
- Pay as you go: you buy credit in advance. We charge per gigabyte (GB) of data sent to your destinations, at the rate shown on our Pricing page. Your incoming stream is free.
- Plans: a plan lasts the number of days shown (normally 30) from payment and includes a data allowance. Data beyond the allowance is charged from your credit at the plan's rate. Plans don't renew automatically.
- Usage is measured by our systems from the data actually sent. Our usage records are used to calculate charges, and you can see them on your Billing page.
- When your credit and plan data run out, your destinations pause automatically. We don't bill you in arrears.
- Prices are shown in US dollars, and in rand for payments through PayFast or Ozow. We may change prices. Changes don't affect credit or plans you've already paid for.
- Payments are processed by PayFast, Ozow or PayPal. We never see or store your card details.
- Unused credit doesn't expire while your account is open. Refunds are covered by our Refund Policy.
4. Acceptable use
You may only stream content you have the right to broadcast. You must not use the Service to:
- stream content that infringes copyright or other rights (for example, sports, films or music you're not licensed to rebroadcast);
- stream anything illegal, including content that is hateful, threatening, sexually exploitative of minors, or that incites violence;
- break the terms of the platforms you stream to;
- try to access other accounts, interfere with the Service, get around usage metering or limits, or use the Service to attack or overload other systems.
If you breach these rules, we may stop your streams, suspend or close your account, and report illegal content to the authorities. Credit used on unlawful content is not refundable.
5. Availability
We work hard to keep the Service running reliably. Live streaming depends on many things outside our control, though, including your internet connection, mobile networks, power supply and the destination platforms. We don't guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. For important events, we recommend a test stream beforehand and a backup plan. We may carry out maintenance, and where possible we'll give notice.
If a failure on our side stops your stream, contact us. We'll credit back the data charged during the outage (see the Refund Policy).
6. Liability
To the extent allowed by law, including the Consumer Protection Act where it applies, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses. These include lost audience, sponsorship or advertising income caused by an interrupted stream. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, such as for gross negligence.
7. Suspension and closing your account
You can stop using the Service at any time and ask us to close your account by emailing us. We may suspend or close accounts that breach these terms. If we close your account without a breach on your part, we'll refund your unused credit.
8. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change is significant, we'll tell you by email or on the website before it takes effect. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the new terms.
9. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
