1. What we collect
- Account details: your name, email address, contact number and company or production name (optional).
- Login security: your password, stored only as a one-way scrambled "hash" that we can't read.
- Streaming settings: your stream key, and the destinations you add, including the stream keys for platforms like YouTube or Facebook. We need these to send your stream there.
- Usage records: how much data was received and sent per day, stream status, and technical logs, including the IP address your stream or browser connects from.
- Payment records: amount, date, payment method and the reference from PayFast, Ozow or PayPal, plus the payer email PayPal provides. We don't receive or store card or bank details. The payment provider handles those.
We don't record, store or watch your video. It passes through our servers in real time only. A short preview buffer is held briefly so you can see your own stream.
2. Why we use it
- To create and run your account and deliver your streams. This is necessary to provide the service you signed up for.
- To measure usage and bill you correctly.
- To keep the Service secure, prevent abuse and fix problems.
- To contact you about your account, payments, low credit or important service changes.
- To meet legal and tax record-keeping duties.
We don't sell your information, and we don't use it for advertising.
3. Who we share it with
- Payment providers (PayFast, Ozow, PayPal), to process payments you make. PayPal may process information outside South Africa, under its own privacy policy and safeguards.
- The destinations you choose (for example YouTube or Facebook), which receive your stream as you instruct.
- Authorities, only where the law requires us to.
4. How long we keep it
We keep account and streaming settings while your account is open. Daily usage records are kept for about 13 months. Payment records are kept for as long as tax and accounting laws require. When you close your account, we delete your account details and destinations, except records we must keep by law.
5. How we protect it
The website uses encrypted connections (https). Passwords are hashed, stream keys are shown only to you, and access to our servers and admin tools is restricted. No system is perfectly secure, though. If a breach affects your personal information, we'll notify you and the Information Regulator as POPIA requires.
6. Cookies
We use one essential cookie to keep you logged in, and store small preferences (like your chosen payment method) in your browser. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies. Some pages load tools from other providers, such as the PayPal payment buttons and an icon library, and those providers may receive your IP address when your browser loads them.
7. Your rights
Under POPIA you can ask us to:
- confirm what personal information we hold about you and give you a copy;
- correct or update it (most details you can change yourself);
- delete it, or object to how we use it, subject to what the law requires us to keep.
Email and we'll respond within a reasonable time. If you're unhappy with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa) at inforegulator.org.za.
8. Changes
We may update this policy. Important changes will be announced by email or on the website.
